Formerly known as Château Lacaze, Château Saint-Aubin is steeped in history. Built by the Vicomte de Marsan, it served as the hunting estate of Henri de Navarre, the future King Henri IV of France, before being abandoned after the French Revolution.
Around 1812, the château had fallen into disrepair and the original building had partly burned down. The owner at the time decided to restore it and make the estate profitable by producing Armagnac there.
The estate changed hands several times until 2014, when brothers Daniel and Jean-Luc Westphal undertook a major project to build the ageing cellar. They cleared the old neglected vines and replanted a young, promising vineyard one vine at a time.
Today, the Armagnacs of Château Saint-Aubin remain a family story: Daniel and Jean-Luc’s children are committed to modernising Armagnac and restoring it to its place as an exceptional spirit!
Armagnac is a spirit produced for more than 700 years in south-west France, in the region of the same name. It is a type of brandy (wine eau-de-vie) distilled only once from white wines made with grapes grown in the region.
Armagnac is aged in oak casks for at least two years to create a complex, flavourful spirit with notes of dried fruit, nuts, and vanilla. It is often enjoyed after a meal or as an aperitif.

42% Vol. |70cl
