ALABAT is an Armagnac house born out of a desire to carry on a family legacy that began with Abel Labat, who produced Armagnac in the Landes region from the late 1940s onwards. Taken over by his great-grandson, the house is committed to showcasing the work of the winegrowers and the expression of the terroirs through exceptional Armagnacs.
Blending tradition and modernity, ALABAT offers cuvées created from unique blends and casks, whilst developing a committed approach centred on craftsmanship and the preservation of the terroirs.
Armagnac is a spirit that has been produced for over 700 years in south-western France, in the region of the same name. It is a type of brandy (wine spirit) that is distilled once from white wines made from local grapes.
Armagnac is aged in oak barrels for a minimum of two years to produce a complex, flavour-rich drink with notes of dried fruit, nuts and vanilla. It is often enjoyed at the end of a meal or as an aperitif.
